The Full Story
When I was diagnosed, I didn’t just want information. I wanted to talk to someone I could relate to. Most of what I found were pre-recorded videos, downloadable guides, or generalized advice. And while those resources can be helpful, what I really wanted was a real conversation. I wanted to ask: "What was your first year like?", "When do you disclose?", "What do those conversations actually sound like?", "How many outbreaks do you get?", "What worked for you — and what didn’t?" "When did acceptance start to feel real?" I didn’t want a course. I wanted connection.
Most of the voices I found were either already partnered, not actively dating, or coming from a male perspective. And while those stories matter, navigating herpes as a single woman in modern dating is its own experience.
When so much of our value feels tied to desirability, a diagnosis can shake your confidence in ways that are hard to explain. I had thoughts like: "What if I could be perfect in every way (smart, kind, successful ), and this one thing would still make someone walk away? In a world of dating apps and endless options, it’s easy to believe you’ll be replaced the second you disclose. Those fears are real. I had them too.
Over the years, I’ve learned how to disclose with confidence. How to understand my body. How to separate stigma from science. How to stop seeing myself as “less than.” How to move through dating without shame.
I’ve spent years reading research, organizing facts, and grounding myself in data, not to minimize herpes, but to understand it clearly instead of fear it. Finding Her Peace exists to offer:
• Real, compassionate peer support
• Thoughtful, research-informed education
• A space to connect anonymously with other women
• Honest conversations about dating, disclosure, and identity
You don’t have to navigate this alone. This is a space for connection over downloads. Conversation over courses. And calm clarity over stigma.
Whether you’re here to read, join anonymously, or book a session, I’m glad you’re here.
